Privacy notice

Last updated: 6 October 2026

This notice explains how CyberWomen Groups C.I.C. uses personal data on this events site. It covers this site only.

Who we are

The data controller is CyberWomen Groups C.I.C., a community interest company registered in England and Wales (company number 15018654), Suite A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Suffolk, IP28 7DE. Contact us about privacy at info@cyberwomengroups.org.uk.

What we collect, and why

  • Registering interest in an event. Your first name, last name and email address, and the event you registered for. We use them to send you a confirmation straight away, and an email with the ticket link once tickets are available. We don't use them for anything else, and we don't add you to a mailing list.
  • Request logs. Our web application firewall records technical details of each request to this site (your IP address, the time, the address requested and your browser identifier) to block attacks and abuse.

This site does not use cookies or analytics.

Our lawful basis

We email you because you asked us to, so we rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any of our emails. We keep request logs on the basis of our legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in keeping the site secure.

Who sees your data

  • CWG platform administrators, who can see who has registered interest in each event.
  • Amazon Web Services, our hosting and email provider, as a data processor. The site, its data and the emails we send are handled in AWS's London (eu-west-2) region.

If you reply to one of our emails, the reply goes to info@cyberwomengroups.org.uk. We do not sell your data or share it for marketing.

How long we keep it

  • Your name and email address are deleted automatically 30 days after the event ends, or sooner if the event is removed.
  • Records of the emails we sent you are deleted 30 days after they were sent.
  • Request logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, and object to how we use it. Email info@cyberwomengroups.org.uk and we will respond within one calendar month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, though we would ask you to contact us first.
